United Way of Greater Union County
The Union County Central Labor Council is proud of our 35-year collaboration with United Way of Greater Union County. Since United Way of Union County's initial organization in 1969, union leaders as well as rank and file members in our county have recognized, supported, and been integral to the efforts of this worthwhile community partner. This collaboration became all the more important since the founding of United Way of Greater Union County in 2002, as well as the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001, when labor played an integral role in all relief efforts. As of December 31, 2004, United Way of Greater Union County terminated this historic and mutually beneficial partnership. For more information about United Way, please click here. For additional illustrations and examples of our labor council's Community Services activities and the partnership with United Way of Greater Union County, please click here, or the United Way button to the left.

Go to The Charleston 5 page for exciting information about the recent VICTORY won by our brothers in International Longshoremen's Association Locals 1422 and 1771 in the Port of Charleston, South Carolina.

Just as we celebrate Gov. Jim McGreevey's November 2001 election on the Victory 2001 page, we also congratulate Sen. Lautenberg in this year’s historic midterm election. Photos of union members in Union County campaigning this past election day, as well our "Labor 2000—2001" efforts, highlight the important role the Union County CLC played in these victories.
